Learning Tour Overview

Milford Public Schools will host Learning Tours on Active Learning in a 1:1 environment on February 28, 2018. Come and see how the Milford Public Schools created a path to move to a 1:1 environment using Chromebooks over a three year rollout. The vision of the Milford Public Schools is committed to provide a learning environment which empowers all individuals in the school community to meet the challenge of change in an increasingly complex world. We believe technology will enhance the quality and scope of teaching and learning. Our goal is to ensure all educators and students will receive equitable access to technology and be integrated across curricula to increase meaningful instruction through the expanded use of digital media, assistive technologies and universally designed instruction. We are motivated to provide  countless opportunities to fully integrate technology in the education process.

This tour will encompass:

• School visits (Woodland Elementary grades 3-5, Stacy Middle School grades 6 – 8, and Milford High Grade 9) to view active learning in action
• Discussions with administrators and teachers
• Review of vision plan to detail pilot, rollout, and refresh plan
• Professional development plan offerings
• 1:1 documents and distribution plan

11:00 – 11:45: Learning Tour and educator discussions at Woodland Elementary School

11:45 – 12:15: Closure and Q/A with Dr. Matthew Joseph and tech team
