Ellen M. Driscoll

“Experience shows that success is due less to ability than to zeal. The winner is he who gives himself to his work, body, and soul.” –Charles Buxton

“Zealous” describes Ellen’s attitude toward life and learning. She has worked as an aide, substitute, and a high school technology teacher before becoming a Technology Systems Administrator for Barnstable and Plymouth. Ellen retired as Chief Technology Officer from Middleborough Public Schools. Her connection to 校园h文 as an organization with its values and dedicated members has been central to her growth and devotion to technology and learning.

Ellen first discovered 校园h文 as an elementary computer teacher and joined a SIG in 1994. She has witnessed and worked for the dramatic growth in 校园h文. Receiving the 2008 校园h文 Pathfinder Award was a lifetime achievement. In 2015, ISTE recognized Ellen’s work advocating for Technology in 宇宙奇趣录 with a plaque at their annual conference in June in Philadelphia. Again in 2017, she was awarded the coveted ISTE Making IT Happen (Jacket) Award representing 校园h文.

Ellen has had the pleasure of serving as the secretary on the 校园h文 Board for ten years and returns now to fulfill that role again as the Interim 2025 Secretary. She has served on the Conference Committee, Influence and Advocacy Committee and the founding Board of METAA. In 2008, she was appointed by the state Commissioner of Education to the Educational Technology Advisory Council for two terms. Ellen spent six years as an elected School Committee member representing the residents of Mattapoisett, where she still lives with her husband, John and rescue dog Pepe. Their three children have made them proud grandparents of nine young adults.
